Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Since an under-inflated tire impedes handling and can be a safety hazard, every current Acura model has a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Using pressure sensors mounted in each wheel, tire pressure readings are sent to a central electronic control unit, which evaluates whether each tire pressure is up to an acceptable range. If a reading is approximately 25% below the recommended level, the car will alert the driver with an instrument panel light as well as an orange warning display on the Multi-Information Display (MID) located on the instrument panel. On most of the latest Acura models, the problem tire will be indicated, along with a reading of the individual pressure for all four tires. This pressure display can be accessed any time, using the MID controls on the steering wheel. Acura still recommends that you manually check tire pressure on a regular basis. |
