Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)

Part of the Advance Package, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) is a convenience feature that works proactively to keep the vehicle inside a detected lane by providing steering assistance. It will provide audible and visual alerts to the driver when the vehicle begins to leave a detected lane without turn signal activation. A camera located between the windshield and the rearview mirror can detect lane separation markings, and as the vehicle moves from the center of the lane, the Electric Power Steering system applies torque to return the vehicle to the middle of the lane. The farther it gets from the center, the more torque is applied. The Lane Keeping Assist System is intended to warn and assist, and is not a substitute for steering the vehicle. The driver must keep their hands on the wheel for the system to operate.
