What To Do If You Lose Your Key Fob
In addition to two vehicle keys, you will receive a key tag number with your new Acura. This number is a code that allows the electronic chip inside the new key to be programmed so that it will disable your car’s immobilizer system. A replacement key without the correct code will not start the car, so it is recommended that you store the key number in a safe and easily retrievable location. To obtain an additional or replacement key, visit your Acura dealer with a key and the key tag number. The new key comes with a remote transmitter, which allows you to perform all the remote functions, such as opening the trunk, locking or unlocking doors, lowering windows, and recognizing your personal settings. To link the new remote transmitter to your Acura, simultaneously press and hold the lock and unlock buttons until the LED on the key blinks once. This same function can be performed should you want to unlink a remote transmitter—only in this case, you will press and hold until the LED blinks twice.
